I will admit I am still hooked on this story even when it is not my usually type of reading material. The story continues on the quest for answers regarding Kat's parentage and the unusual going on's in Elustria and Earth. Kat is learning little bits about her parents and family and what her mother was trying to accomplish. Not all of it was good no matter how you spin it.The book is written in such away that you are engaged in Kat's quest to find answers but you are not bored while reading it. There was little predictability in this story which is great. The author keeps thing interesting between Kat, Alex, Nicole and Millhook who is a new addition to the cast. An imp with an attitude. Seems like everyone has their own idea of what Kat should be doing to find out about her magic, who her parents really are, why her mother left the talisman and what the Directorate wants. Lots of question not a lot of straight answers.
Looking forward to the next quest for answers.

I really like this series so far. This is my first book by Caethes Faron, but they are real page tunners
Easy to digest in small parts, and keep storyline in my head. That is a very important requirement for a book when being considered by a person in the Healthcare field.
Second book in the series, was as good as the first. I would recommend it. So if you are looking for a new series to read and enjoy Urban fantasy, this might be an author to try. Don't you love finding a new author?
Book 2 continues along in the same vein...an unexplainable, irresistible attraction between the 2 main characters. And now Kat is tasked to prove her dead mother's innocence or be banished to some place called the Vortex. I don't think Elustria would be on my bucket list of places to visit! Predictable prose, but I need to see the series through...
